Metro District’s Commitment to Quality Coffee for Our High School Students

At Metro District, we’re always looking for ways to enhance the high school experience, and our latest initiative is sure to perk things up! This year, we’re introducing responsibly sourced, high-quality coffee options for high school students. As more students explore coffee as part of their daily routine, we want to ensure that the coffee they have access to is ethically sourced, environmentally sustainable, and delicious.

Why Ethical Sourcing Matters

Our commitment to ethical sourcing reflects Metro District’s values of global responsibility and community impact. The coffee we serve is sourced from fair-trade farms, ensuring that farmers receive fair compensation for their hard work. We partner with suppliers who prioritize sustainable practices, from reducing water waste to protecting local ecosystems. By choosing fair-trade coffee, we support small-scale farmers and promote a positive impact beyond our district.

Crafting a Quality Coffee Experience for Students

Coffee culture has become an important part of modern high school life, and we recognize that many students enjoy grabbing a cup as they start their day or during study breaks. To ensure the best experience, our coffee is freshly brewed on-site, with options that are tailored to students’ tastes. Our blends are carefully selected for a smooth, rich flavor that’s satisfying without being overly intense. Students can enjoy a variety of options, including regular and decaffeinated brews, as well as plant-based milk alternatives.

In addition, we’ve partnered with our Nutrition Services team to keep our coffee offerings balanced and responsible. Portions are designed with students in mind, and we provide helpful information about moderation and caffeine’s effects on the body. For students looking to balance their energy needs, we offer refreshing caffeine-free alternatives as well, including herbal teas and fruit-infused water.

Educational Opportunities: Learning About Sustainable Choices

The new coffee offerings are also a learning opportunity for students. Through our partnership with the coffee supplier, we’ll be offering educational sessions where students can learn more about the journey of coffee—from bean to cup. These sessions will highlight the importance of ethical sourcing, environmental responsibility, and fair-trade practices. Not only will students enjoy their coffee, but they’ll gain a deeper understanding of the impact of their choices.
